"Four Great Gardens, One Great Meal!"

                5:30-9:00

What:   First GCGC Garden Tour and Potluck Dinner with Bicycle Tour Option 

Where: COLUMBUS – Westside

RSVP: PLEASE RSVP if you are coming to this first annual tour.  Let us know if you will be touring by bicycle. RSVP to Noreen Warnock, nwarnock@local-matters.org

Misc.:  You can either drive the tour by car or ride by bicycle.  All tableware will be provided.   If you want to car pool, meet at the church below at 5:45 PM.  Carpooling will be up to you.

WHETHER YOU ARE DRIVING, WALKING OR GOING ON THE BIKE
TOUR, PLEASE DROP YOUR PASTA SAUCE AND GREENS OFF AT
ST. JOHN’S CHURCH BEFORE YOU GO ON THE GARDEN TOUR.

FOR THOSE WHO ARE DRIVING: Please be at first garden at 6PM 
FOR THOSE WHO ARE BICYCLING: Be at St. John's church ready to start promptly at 5:45.

Bicyclists:  Optional bike tour

5:15 PM: Optional pre-fun ride starting at St. John's on Town St.  We will tour Franklinton and downtown Columbus. Have your tomato sauce in the pot and be ready to ride by this time. Because of time constraints, this pre-fun ride will start promptly at 5:15 PM.

5:45 PM:  Official start of the optional bike ride for the tour will start promptly at this time.  Have sauce in pot by start of ride. We will ride together from St. Johns' to arrive at the first garden by 6 PM.

Note: You must wear a helmet and sign a legal waiver to participate in the bicycling option.   In case you have a flat, have a spare inner tube and any wrenches needed with you to repair your flat.   No inner tubes or wrenches will be available but tire levers, air pump, and assistance will be provided on the ride.  Contact:  Roger Beck @ (614) 736-3398 before or during the ride.

 WE WILL EAT TOGETHER AT THE CHURCH AT 7:40 – THERE MAY BE SNACKS AT GARDENS J

1.     Highland children's garden - 67 S. Highland
2.     Hilltop Lutheran garden - 12 S. Terrace
3.     Highland West Community Garden 29-31 N Wheatland Ave
4.     Franklinton garden - CORNER OF SCOTT ST AND JONES AVENUE
5.     St. John's Episcopal Church for dinner
 POTLUCK Menu:
·      Community Pasta Sauce Medley (Two recipes follows if you want to try one)
Please bring tomato sauce to feed four. This will be put into a big pot with everyone else’s sauce before the tour begins!

·      Salad – If you want, please bring greens from your garden for the salad; dressing will be provided
·      Bread – will be provided
·      Parmesan Cheese provided
(We will pass the GCGC watering can to collect contributions to help defray  the cost of the pasta, bread, salad dressing, and cheese etc.).
