Planetary Gear Bicycle

The planetary gear bicycle may not be actually rideable, but it does qualify as an interesting piece of art. It is a model of the good old Penny Farthing bicycle and was built from Windform XT, which is a carbon fiber reinforced polyimide and is used to create high-performance parts for motorsports.
The bicycle was created by CRP Technology to demonstrate their capabilities. They crafted it using SLS rapid prototyping and gave it the planetary gear system. Not only does this system look entirely awesome, it also helps reduce the size of the huge front wheel by nearly 20%. The model is just 16-inches long, and thanks to rapid prototyping, it is all built as a single piece.
