Have you heard about the $2 Bike Aboard! program? Cuyahoga Valley Scenic Railroad (CVSR) and Cuyahoga Valley National Park in partnership announce the start-up of Bike Aboard! service for 2012 on April 7th.

Bike Aboard! allows cyclists to bike the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath Trail in one direction and ride the rail in the other for just $2.  This program allows everyone the ability to ride their way to better health and see more of the National Park as they do it.

Riders can choose how far they want to go.  Bikers can be aggressive and ride the Towpath Trail from Independence to Akron, or stop at any of the 6 stations in between, then return by rail.  For Bike Aboard!,  bikers pay as they board the train.

Bike Aboard! service is offered weekends in April and May – following the weekend Scenic Train schedule.  Expanded Scenic service offering a longer schedule, more days (Wednesday through Sunday) will start June 2nd and run through the end of October.

The Akron Northside Station will also re-open the weekend of April 7th.  Service in the Akron-area had been moved to the Botzum Station on Riverview Road while Bridge 438 between Smith Road and Merriman Road was replaced.
