Four new sets of “green waves” — modified traffic signals timed so that bicyclists encounter a series of green lights — are coming to The City, and three existing systems are being enhanced.
The $117,176 project funded with Proposition K dollars rides on the success of the Valencia Street green wave, which in January 2011 made San Francisco the first city in the world to provide a two-way green wave.
